A new AI-powered Video-to-Text feature has been added to the macOS version of Bandicam, giving users access to built-in transcription capabilities directly through the popular screen recording software. This feature allows users to convert spoken content from recorded videos into searchable transcripts and subtitle files without the need for external transcription services.
The new transcription tool analyzes audio captured in recordings and automatically generates a text transcript from it. Users can convert dialogue from screen recordings into written text within seconds, and this can be used for documentation, captions, or searchable video notes.

The system can also convert MP4 recordings into transcripts, so recorded videos can be made into written content without the need for additional software.
Export options include .srt subtitle files that can be used for captions on platforms like YouTube, and .txt transcript files for meeting notes, lecture summaries, searchable records of recorded content, and so on.
Bandicam also includes tools for users to review and explore transcripts. They can find specific words or phrases via a Search box, and subtitle controls allow captions to be toggled on and off during playback. Users can also regenerate transcripts if needed by picking a different AI model or changing the transcription language.
Bandicam language support
The new feature supports a wide range of languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Vietnamese, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Korean, Japanese, and both simplified and traditional Chinese. The language can be selected manually or detected automatically by the software.
Users can choose between a number of AI model presets including Tiny, Base, Small, Medium, and Large Turbo. The Base model is the default and best for balanced performance, while larger models can provide higher transcription accuracy.
The software also includes an optional audio preprocessing feature that reduces background noise before beginning a transcription attempt. A model cache management option allows users to remove downloaded AI models when needed.
“Our new AI Video to Text feature for Mac is a productivity breakthrough. By supporting multiple languages, we’re helping global users transcribe video to text instantly and effortlessly,” said Denny Oh, CEO of Bandicam Company.
The AI transcription feature is available to use now in Bandicam for Mac. The Pro version is priced at $29.99 a year.
