Most of us can’t even remember the last time we sent a fax, and many people have never sent one at all, but FaxMonkey is a new service that lets users send faxes from a web browser without hardware or subscriptions. It targets occasional needs like legal or medical paperwork, where the format still thrives despite the global move to email and messaging.

Fax remains embedded in many institutions. More than 17 billion documents are still transmitted by fax worldwide each year, especially in hospitals, law firms, government agencies, and financial services, where it’s still accepted as a secure and legally recognized method of exchange.

FaxMonkey launches as a browser-based service that removes the need for a fax machine, dedicated phone line, or monthly plan. Users upload a PDF or image, enter a fax number, and send the document directly from their browser.

FaxMonkey pricing

The service uses a pay-per-fax model rather than subscriptions. Pricing starts at $1 for the first page and $0.25 for each additional page.

“I needed to send one simple document and ended up wasting almost an hour looking for a fax machine,” said Henning Kruthaup, founder of FaxMonkey. “That’s when it hit me — sending one fax shouldn’t require hardware, contracts, or subscriptions. It should be as easy as sending an email.”

The service is intended for people who only need to fax occasionally. Typical uses include cancelling contracts, submitting official forms, or sending medical or legal paperwork.

After sending, users receive delivery confirmation by email. The service doesn’t require account registration.

FaxMonkey is available worldwide and offered in 54 localised versions, covering users across more than 50 countries. It follows European data protection standards and complies with GDPR rules. Documents are transmitted securely and automatically deleted after delivery.

“We’re not trying to reinvent communication,” Kruthaup added. “We’re simply removing the hassle from something millions of people still need.”

The service comes from Growthpaca GmbH, a Berlin-based venture builder focused on digital tools for everyday business problems.
