Ashampoo Sharpen #5 is an AI-powered photo editing tool that sharpens blurry images and corrects motion distortion. It’s usually priced at $50, but BetaNews readers can get it entirely free from now until March 31.
The software is built to improve blurry or shaky photos and works by analyzing images individually. It uses a special sharpening engine that includes halo suppression and directional motion correction to produce cleaner contours and more natural results.
Sharpen #5 modes
You can choose between Compact and Pro modes, depending on how much control you want. There’s also support for watermarking, focus peaking, and super-sampling, along with AI-accelerated processing for faster adjustments.
One of the core updates in Sharpen #5 is 2x super-sampling for smoother edges. The software also introduces a multidirectional sharpening mode powered by artificial intelligence, which adjusts sharpness based on image structure rather than applying a uniform filter.
The program supports 1,296 RAW camera formats in addition to standard image files. That makes it usable for photographers working with dedicated cameras as well as users editing smartphone snaps.
Sharpen #5 includes 20 presets for quick edits, and anyone needing greater control over the results can fine-tune sharpness settings, apply selective processing, and use the selective drawing module to focus on specific areas of an image.
The grain module includes three quality settings, allowing users to refine texture without overwhelming fine details. More than 70 area protection presets are available to prevent over-processing of skin tones, skies, or other sensitive regions.
Additional tools include automatic haze correction and fog removal. A comparison view with a magnifying glass will let you examine fine details before and after adjustments.
The interface is available in HD and Ultra HD resolutions and editing presets are displayed on the left, the active image appears in the center, and export or finalization tools on the right.
The new sharpening module supports exporting and importing custom sharpness settings, which could be useful for users looking for the same consistent results across multiple images.
Sharpen #5 is free to download until March 31, 2026. After then, the software will go back to its standard $50 price. Download it here.
