Satechi has announced the OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub, a nifty portable accessory that combines a tablet stand with built-in connectivity for expanding displays, transferring files, and powering devices. The hub is aimed at people who work across tablets, laptops, and smartphones and need a compact setup they can carry between locations.

Part of Satechi’s portable OntheGo lineup, the latest addition combines a folding stand with multiple ports, so it’s possible to connect displays, storage, and power through a single USB-C connection.

When folded, the hub sits flat and can slide easily into a backpack or laptop bag. Once opened, it acts as a stand that raises a tablet or device while also providing access to its integrated ports. You can use it to create a temporary workstation in places such as cafés, airport lounges, or shared office spaces.

“OntheGo is for the modern creative,” said Brock Guclu, Satechi’s co-founder and president. “We designed it for those who never stop moving — a device that’s compact enough to travel, yet powerful enough to replace an entire desk setup.”

The hub includes a 4K HDMI port that supports external displays at 60Hz, so you can connect a monitor for editing, presentations, or multitasking. If you regularly work with multiple windows or applications at the same time, connecting a larger display can make a portable setup feel closer to a traditional desktop workspace.

Power delivery is handled via a USB-C passthrough connection that supports up to 100W charging. This can keep a laptop or tablet powered while the hub remains connected to other devices and accessories.

The OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub includes both USB-C and USB-A ports that support data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps and can connect external drives or storage devices for moving large media files between devices.

The hub also includes integrated UHS II SD and microSD card readers with transfer speeds up to 312MB/s. If you work with cameras or drones, you’ll be able to use these to move photos or video footage directly from memory cards to your tablet or laptop without the need for additional adapters.

The stand itself includes a hinge that has been tested for thousands of folds, allowing it to open and close repeatedly during travel. The grip mechanism is non magnetic and holds devices securely even when a protective case is attached.

Although the stand is optimized for Apple’s iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini models from 2021 onward, the hub will work just fine with other USB-C laptops, tablets, and smartphones. If, for example, you connect a compatible Samsung smartphone, the hub will support Samsung DeX mode, so you can run a desktop style interface on an external display.

Satechi’s OntheGo Foldable Stand Hub, in Space Black, is available now from Satechi and Amazon priced at $79.99.
