, /PRNewswire/ — On or about March 13, 2025 a data hosting and security vendor retained by CareNexa, LLC, dba Molecular Testing Labs (“MTL”) experienced a ransomware incident which may have affected the information of certain individuals which was in the possession of MTL. MTL has since diligently worked to determine what happened and what information was involved in this incident. MTL promptly launched an investigation, reported the incident to law enforcement and engaged a national cybersecurity firm to assist in assessing the scope of the incident and took steps to mitigate the potential impact. Following an investigation conducted by third-party forensic experts, it was determined the incident occurred between March 7, 2025, and March 13, 2025. Upon identification of the potentially impacted data set, internal review and data mining are being conducted to identify the potentially impacted individuals and what elements of personally identifiable information may have been affected.

The elements of personal information that may have been impacted because of this incident, known to this point, varies per individual and may included: names, addresses, and information related to medical tests. As of this writing, MTL has not received any reports from individuals of misuse, identity theft or fraud related to the incident. As data incidents are increasingly common, MTL encourages you to always remain vigilant, monitor your accounts, and immediately report any suspicious activity or suspected misuse of your personal information.

Unfortunately, these types of incidents are becoming increasingly common and organizations with the most sophisticated IT infrastructure available continue to be affected. MTL understands the inconvenience or concern this incident may cause is committed to ensuring the security of all information in its control and has taken steps to strengthen its security posture.

MTL mailed formal notification letters to identified, potentially affected individuals on April 23, 2025. The letters included additional information about what occurred, outlined the personal information that may have been impacted for each individual, and provided a toll-free number that individuals can call to learn more about the incident. The call center can be reached at (888) 686-4602 between the hours of 9:00am – 7:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
