Cyber Monday is historically the ideal time to upgrade your tech to something new and exciting. Right now, there’s a great deal for gamers. You can buy the Acer Nitro V at Walmart for $899 (was $1,199), which is a good price for a gaming laptop packing an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, as well as some great extras.

It’s easy to think you have to spend a lot to get one of the best gaming laptop deals, but in reality, a mid-range gaming laptop like the Acer Nitro V will suit many people’s needs. If you play a lot of cozy games, for instance, you don’t need a high-end PC to do so.

For others, many games can be tweaked to run well on this kind of setup at medium settings, so you really don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy gaming on the move. This particular model has a 16-inch screen, so it’ll work well as a desktop replacement, too.

Our Acer Nitro V review goes into depth about what the laptop has to offer. We described it as “promising a lot for a little”, while also appreciating its “good 1080p performance” and “vibrant and bright display.” As a downside, it can get “quite hot in places” and you won’t be playing anything at max graphics settings, but both of these make perfect sense at this price.

The 15-inch model of this laptop still features highly in our look at the best budget gaming laptops, with Acer knowing how to get the most out of your budget. It’s the solid 1080p performance which makes it worth pursuing, although, like even some of the best gaming laptops, you shouldn’t count on good battery life.

Still, as a well-balanced gaming laptop, the Acer Nitro V is that kind of deal I love to see on Cyber Monday. One that’s actually worth buying, either as a holiday gift or as an upgrade for yourself in time for the winter months.

If you have other plans in mind, take a look at the laptop deals going on elsewhere. For something more productivity-focused, you might want to consider all the MacBook deals available right now too.
