I’ve tested and reviewed a wide range of gaming laptops over the years, and there are very few that I’d consider purchasing for personal use, as the value often isn’t where I’d want it to be. When it comes to the best gaming laptops, their weight is often a massive dealbreaker, and it’s unfortunately a necessity to accommodate hardware components and ensure there’s sufficient cooling.

We’re also in a period where the PC hardware market is unstable, with prices for RAM reaching unprecedented levels, and all hardware across the board being impacted, whether that’s via shortages or price hikes. It’s all because of the memory crisis, and there isn’t much that can be done to combat it on the consumer side.

Portable gaming is supposed to be gaming made easy, and Asus nailed it with the ROG Zephyrus G14. It’s an incredible lightweight powerhouse gaming laptop, and its 14-inch size makes it easy to take when traveling away from home.

While its high temperatures under heavy load are certainly noticeable, it’s not a dealbreaker because that’s the sacrifice made to make it lightweight and easy to set up.

The design of the ROG Zephyrus G14 is easily my favorite among all of the gaming laptops I’ve tested, with a sleek and smooth chassis containing hardware powerful enough to play games like Cyberpunk 2077 at max resolution above 60fps with DLSS enabled, as you can see in the benchmarks below.

With speakers that pack a bigger punch than most might expect, along with a beautiful and immersive OLED display, there is so much to enjoy with this gaming laptop. While its price is still, I’ll admit, quite steep, it’s one of the rare discounts that I can confidently say is generous.

This is the closest you can get to buying a high-end desktop gaming PC or laptop, without spending rent money. It’s also at its lowest price ever on Best Buy, thanks to the Presidents’ Day sale, and it’s safe to say I’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
