Right now, MacBook sales are surging. Mostly due to the enforced migration from Windows 10, but also because Black Friday MacBook deals are just around the corner. Experienced deals hunters will know that MacBooks are always popular over the holiday season and nearly always on sale.

As always, it’s worth getting prepared ahead of time if you’re going to buy this November. MacBooks aren’t the cheapest machines on the market, so it’s worth doing the research to make sure you’re getting the right model. That’s why I’ve put together this guide to help our readers know exactly what to expect.

When will Black Friday MacBook deals start?

My predictions for 2025

– Early sales first week of November
– Peak deals one week ahead of BF

Generally speaking, it’s the trend for retailers these days to start their Black Friday sales event way ahead of the big day itself. Black Friday 2025 is on November 28th, but I would expect MacBook deals from the first week of the month onwards as retailers look to cash-in on the early bird shoppers.

I’ll certainly be rounding up any early Black Friday MacBook deals right here on this page, and I’ll also be sure to include any price guarantees if I spot them. These guarantees are crucial if you’re shopping early as they’ll stop you from getting undercut later in the month as the sales ramp up.

What models does TechRadar recommend?

TechRadar has tested every single MacBook model from the past few years, and you can see our full best MacBooks 2025 buyers’ guide for a full rundown of our top picks. As an overview, however, I’ll attach a small guide of what models we currently recommend, as well as the kind of deals I’m expecting over Black Friday for each model just below.

What retailers should I check?

  • Amazon in the US and UK
  • Best Buy and Currys also fantastic
  • JB, Mwave, and Good Guys in AU

Amazon has a decent track record for MacBook deals all year round, so naturally, it’s the first port of call if you’re looking for a price cut over Black Friday. Generally speaking, Amazon has the most consistent and most frequent record-low prices on the latest models – which other retailers tend to price match after the fact.

On that topic, it’s worth checking out competitors like Currys in the UK or Best Buy in the US as well. Best Buy, for example, often has excellent trade-in rebates that you can stock on top of upfront discounts as well as exclusive savings for My Best Buy members. If you’re eligible for these, then you can usually save several hundreds of dollars over Black Friday.

One retailer that I usually don’t recommend is Apple itself. The official store usually only offers gift cards with its products over Black Friday rather than upfront discounts. Trade-in rebates are usually good at Apple, but those are available all year round, so it’s not particularly newsworthy over the holiday season.

Are refurbished deals any good?

They can be quite good, but refurbished products span a wide range of conditions from simply returned ‘open box’ items to heavily reconditioned and repaired items. It’s important to check the fine print carefully if a price looks to good to be true.

Where you buy the debice is important, too. Apple’s own official refurbished store page offers a wide range of professionally repaired and checked models with extensive warranty options. Another great option is the specialist site BackMarket, which
