AOC has expanded its entry-level gaming monitor lineup with two new models that push higher refresh rates into lower price brackets. The 23.8-inch AOC Gaming 24G4ZR and 27-inch 27G4ZR both offer up to 260Hz.

Both monitors use Fast IPS panels with a native 240Hz refresh rate that can be overclocked to 260Hz via an on-screen menu or G-Menu software. Response times reach up to 1ms GtG, with a 0.3ms MPRT mode intended to keep motion clear during fast gameplay.

Adaptive-Sync is included, along with official Nvidia G-SYNC compatibility. The monitors also support MBR Sync, which combines variable refresh rate and backlight strobing to maintain low motion blur across a 48–260Hz range.

Gaming monitor choices

Each display uses a Full HD resolution. The 27-inch model covers 121.5 percent of the sRGB color space and 92.3 percent of DCI-P3, while the 23.8-inch version reaches 111.7 percent sRGB and 87.7 percent DCI-P3. Both offer 300 nits of brightness and wide 178-degree viewing angles.

The 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR include fully adjustable stands with height, tilt, swivel, and pivot controls. AOC also plans tilt-only versions called the 24G4ZRE and 27G4ZRE, which keep the same panels but use simpler stands.

Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 input. Flicker-free backlighting and a hardware low blue light mode are included for longer sessions.

“260 Hz and 0.3 ms MPRT used to be specs reserved for sports-focussed higher-tier displays,” says César Acosta, Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC. “With the 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR, we’re making that level of speed the new starting point, because every competitive player deserves a monitor that keeps up with them.”

The AOC Gaming 24G4ZR is listed at £129, while the tilt-only 24G4ZRE is £109. The 27G4ZR comes in at £149, with the 27G4ZRE priced at £129.
