We’re usually accustomed to big retailers like Amazon listing record-low prices over big sales events like Memorial Day, but I’ve just spotted a surprise post-event discount on one of our favorite laptops here at TechRadar.

Right now, the retailer has the excellent Apple MacBook Pro 13 M5 listed for just $899 (was $1,099) — a price that beats the previous record by a full $50.

While we’ve seen this latest model regularly drop to $949 in recent months, today’s price cut is even better and definitely a surprise considering that the MacBook Air M5 is still relatively new as of writing.

This particular model saw a real price hike at launch thanks to the new chipset and an upgraded 512GB storage configuration, which is significantly better than the 256GB that the old models came with. Today’s discount, however, addresses the price hike with a deal that’s easily up there with the MacBook Neo when it comes to outright value.

Record-low MacBook Air deal at Amazon

Note, while the price cut on the MacBook Air is the headline deal at Amazon today, the retailer also has good discounts on other models. I’ve attached a few more options just down below, including the high-end MacBook Pro and the budget-oriented MacBook Neo, which is another fantastic value choice.
