Asus Republic of Gamers has launched the ROG Cetra Open Wireless earbuds, adding a new open-ear audio option for gamers and everyday listeners. The earbuds combine large drivers, dual wireless connectivity, and an open design that keeps users aware of their surroundings while listening.

The product targets people who want immersive sound without completely blocking external noise. It’s built for uses like gaming sessions, music playback, and outdoor activity where external awareness matters.

The earbuds uses an open-ear design rather than traditional in-ear sealing. That layout lets users hear nearby sounds while audio plays through the earbuds.

The earbuds are equipped with 14.2mm drivers coated with diamond-like carbon that reduces distortion and keeps audio clearer across high and mid frequencies while maintaining strong bass response.

The large drivers reportedly produce a wider soundstage that suits both gaming and music. Built-in sound modes are included to adjust the listening experience. Phantom Bass boosts perceived low-end output for stronger bass, while Immersion Mode reduces surrounding noise to help users focus on audio content.

There are two wireless options. Bluetooth supports general device pairing across phones, tablets, and laptops, while gamers can use the 2.4GHz wireless connection via ROG SpeedNova technology. The latter lowers audio latency and keeps sound synced with on-screen action.

The included USB-C 2.4GHz dongle supports passthrough charging, allowing a connected device to charge while the earbuds remain in use. This is the first ROG dongle to offer this functionality.

The earbuds use physical control buttons instead of touch controls, helping to avoid accidental inputs and keep controls responsive during workouts and wet conditions. The ergonomic design uses liquid silicone ear hooks to keep the earbuds secure and a detachable reflective neck strap keeps things during exercise.

The earbuds carry an IPX5 splash resistance rating covering sweat and light rain during daily use.

Battery life reaches up to 16 hours in Bluetooth mode when RGB lighting and sound modes are turned off and the microphone is muted. A 15-minute quick charge provides up to three hours of listening time.

The new ROG Cetra earbuds are available to buy now, priced at $229.99.
